What is Hope for Homes Day?

Hope for Homes Day is a statewide day of giving by and for Illinois-based nonprofits dedicated to housing and homelessness initiatives through online giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsorship opportunities, and matched giving challenges. This collaborative, multi-organization effort is a first-of-its-kind campaign that aims to generate over $500,000 in support of unhoused youth and families across Illinois.

In the past, we’ve been honored to have official proclamations from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle recognizing Hope for Homes Day. These endorsements highlight the importance of our mission and the collaborative effort to end homelessness in our state and we count on their continued support, along with the philanthropies that have stood with us since launching this collaborative effort in 2024: the Chicago Community Trust and the Knight Family Foundation.

Collaborative Philanthropy

What sets Hope for Homes Day apart is its innovative fundraising model; though spearheaded by La Casa Norte, this initiative is uniquely designed to raise funds for all participating non-profit organizations. While days of giving are common, Hope for Homes Day collaborative philanthropic model is rare. La Casa Norte is proud to lead the charge for the campaign’s inaugural year and will cover the registration fee for all participating organizations.
